  1. Other than the fact that the “account has exceeded its CPU quota” so I get nothing but a broken icon? No idea.

  2. There wouldn’t be a splash. All liquid (and solid, too) in the vicinity would vaporize instantly. There would, however, be an expanding shock wave visible as a disturbance in the atmosphere, but later — not at the instant of time depicted here. The asteroid (planetoid?) would vaporize in the next milliseconds, too. A truer picture of this instant would be just the asteroid and the earth with no visible reaction. With something of this size, there might be enough of a tidal effect to tear it apart before it got this close to Earth… but I’m too lazy to run the numbers. Looking forward to your analysis, Doctroid.
