May Day, so good it happened twice

Thursday, the real May Day. Pretty much the usual Syracuse May Day things happened, for better or worse. The new morris team, officially still nameless, made its debut. Both the unnamed new Cotswold morris team in Syracuse and the Binghamton Morris Men are done with their practice schedule — well, pretty much. Both teams will run through some dances the night before their first upcoming public performances.

For a guy who doesn’t get enough exercise, I sure feel like I’m getting too much exercise

Friday lunchtime: another six laps walking around the Carrier Dome. (That doesn’t count the fact that, from or to the Physics building, you have to walk halfway around the Dome to get to or from the entrance.)
Friday evening: Sporadic Morris.
Saturday morning: Karate.

Miscellife

Sporadic Morris had its second practice last week, impeded a bit by the fact that Fred, who’s teaching, had badly sprained an ankle. On the other hand, we had two dancers more than at the first practice. It’s coming along okay.
Band was supposed to start up last Tuesday but was cancelled due to adverse weather.

Syracuse Sporadic Cotswold Morris

It’s been 6 1/2 years, amazingly, since the demise of Salt Springs Morris, and since that time there’s been no Cotswold morris teams in the Syracuse area that take male dancers. Well, there’s GCM. But I’ve never succeeded in recruiting new dancers to that team.
