Epitaph One

So, what could possibly go wrong? Oh.
“Epitaph One”, the unaired, so-called “thirteenth” (it was really the fourteenth), “lost” (I think Joss pretty much knew where it was) episode of Dollhouse, has, you will be shocked and astounded to learn, been somewhat overhyped. In other words, not the greatest hour of television ever made by anyone [...]

DHDVD

So Amazon tells me the Dollhouse Season 1 DVDs I preordered are on their way. Excellent! I’m eagerly anticipating “Epitaph One”, the so-called 13th episode (really 14th, counting the scrapped pilot which also is on the DVD set) which was not broadcast. Apparently it really brought the house down at ComicCon.
Word to those who didn’t [...]

If only…

… I’d kept my mouth shut on 11 May and let my comments of 16 April stand, I’d be looking like a frakking genius right now. Oh well.
Word is the price of renewal is a drastically lowered budget. May be cause to worry there. Then again some of Whedon’s best work (“Out of Gas”, “Dr. [...]

Astonishing development

Fox fails to suck.
(Unofficially. According to unnamed sources.)
Alert the media.  Wait, never mind, they are the media.

Omegod

I watched “Omega” today, the season finale of “Dollhouse”. Nice. Alan Tudyk managed to be both creepy and amusing as Alpha. We get Saunders’s backstory, and the bitterness we’ve seen bits of comes out front and center. “Omega” wraps up the season well, while leaving some questions unanswered; no cliffhanger, but I want more. Ballard [...]

Turn your TV off

Chadwick Matlin argues the best way to save an endangered TV show is to not watch it on TV.
The author seems to suffer from ignorance of statistics, and assumes (or knows without divulging the evidence) that the networks both look at and heavily weigh viewership numbers from DVR, Hulu, iTunes, and their own streaming sites: [...]

Just an idea

Could Echo be imprinted as a competent television network executive and be sent to straighten out Fox?

I saw a commercial for American Idol

Well, parts of one, anyway.  I feel so dirty.
I finally got around to watching the last episode of “Battlestar Galactica”. It was not all I hoped it would be. Still, it had its moments, and all in all I’d regard “BSG” as one of the very best TV series I’ve seen in… well, maybe ever. [...]

I join the chorus

I may be coming in a few bars late, but I can sing along as well as the next man (with a little help from Zed).
You may, or may not, have liked Joss Whedon’s earlier work — “Buffy”, “Angel”, “Firefly”, “Doctor Horrible”. You may or may not have heard about his new series, “Dollhouse”. You [...]
