Some years ago I started to build an ASM-1 synth, but for some reason that project stalled.
The Gakken SX-150 has put the building bug back in me. I’m working on something less ambitious this time, a Weird Sound Generator.
I’m planning a few minor modifications:
- LED power indicator.
- Switches to disable HFO3/4 (Weird Oscillators) at input to filter.
- External input to filter.
- Unfiltered signal output, a la the un-reborn version.
- HFO3/4 CV inputs.
- Output amp to drive a built in speaker and headphone jack.
Progress so far:
- Parts purchase.
- Partial breadboarding.
- Case purchase (a tool case from Harbor Freight Tools).
- Panel design.
- PC board stuffed including parts for mods (which need to be connected into the standard circuit).
- Panel fabricated and controls mounted.
