The Suds, as it is sometime spelled, is a men’s morris event, held annually by the Bouwerie Boys near Falls Village, Connecticut. It was my first event with the Binghamton Men, back in 2002, and I’ve been back since but not recently — I’m not quite sure when was the last time. Maybe 2006?
I’ll be [...]

On the run
I’ve never been a runner, really, aside from a few running sessions in a fitness class I took in the early 1980s. But our dojo requires running for black belt candidates — you have to run two miles in under 16 minutes. And Kenny’s getting checked for his green belt second tip, which means he’ll [...]

If only…
… I’d kept my mouth shut on 11 May and let my comments of 16 April stand, I’d be looking like a frakking genius right now. Oh well.
Word is the price of renewal is a drastically lowered budget. May be cause to worry there. Then again some of Whedon’s best work (“Out of Gas”, “Dr. [...]

Omegod
I watched “Omega” today, the season finale of “Dollhouse”. Nice. Alan Tudyk managed to be both creepy and amusing as Alpha. We get Saunders’s backstory, and the bitterness we’ve seen bits of comes out front and center. “Omega” wraps up the season well, while leaving some questions unanswered; no cliffhanger, but I want more. Ballard [...]

Crimson Dark
There was a time when I subscribed to both Syracuse newspapers (one of which has since folded) in part to get all the comic strips, but I don’t really read comic strips any more. I have in the past couple years read two, but only two, online comics, “xkcd” and “Questionable Content“; they’re the only [...]
